Dean’s Office is a functional department administering undergraduate education and teaching affairs administration. It consists of 27 staff from 7 branches, including Teaching Research Section, Teaching Affairs Section, Textbook Research Section, Office of Quality & Assessment, Practice Teaching Section, Section of Course Scheduling & Examination and Textbook Service Center.
-The office formulates major programs for undergraduate students, supervises and evaluates teaching quality, as well as approves and manages teaching reform projects;
-The office plans and constructs undergraduate curriculum, textbooks and majors;
-The office arranges courses, examinations and classrooms, maintains records for undergraduate students;
-The office reviews the qualification of graduates, manages certificates, recommends students to have graduate study exempt from entrance exam, maintains the statistics, reports and data of students, makes transcripts for studying abroad, school certificates as well as the electronic register;
-The office organizes and manages students’ teaching practice, productive practice and social practice activities;
-The office organizes teaching quality assessment and inspection, constructs and operates the management information system (MIS) of teaching affairs for undergraduatesas well as the teaching information releasing system.
Dean’s Officeof Southwest Jiaotong University was twice awarded “Excellent Dean’s Office of National General Institutes of Higher Education” by Ministry of Education in 1994 and 1999, was national higher education “Advanced Group” for diploma and records management in 2011, and “Advanced Grassroots Party Organization” of Sichuan education system in 2011.
